Apart from the number of different teams involved in a typical innovation project, the difference in background, working methods and communications styles of the different team members make aligning contributions extremely difficult.  As the project progresses the amount of information required to execute various project tasks as well as the amount of information generated whilst completing these tasks, increases rapidly.  Furthermore, the dependencies between tasks and deliverables of the various project teams make it difficult to execute the project optimally.  In the turmoil created by a true innovation project, little is certain except for the desired outcomes, deadline and budget of the project.  Highly detailed, rigid, project management methods are usually abandoned during the early stages of such a project due to the dynamic nature of the project in this phase.

Created to operate in such environments, EDEN™ acts as the common denominator in complex, semi-structured project environment.  EDEN™ employs customizable guiding structures, called roadmaps, to steer the activities of teams, providing them with detailed steps to follow the necessary information, templates and examples required during the process.  Different team roadmaps can be linked in order to realise the necessary overlap between tasks, input and output information, thereby forming an integrated execution framework.  All information generated during the execution of given project activities can directly be related to corresponding roadmap elements, thereby creating a project-based information sharing environment promoting a common understanding amongst the project stakeholders as well as providing access to the right information for the task at hand.

EDEN™ HAS THE FOLLOWING HIGH-LEVEL FUNCTIONALITIES:

  • Share information among different project teams to support well-informed decisions and reduce reinvention of the wheel
  • Guide team members through the execution of project activities by providing clear projects steps, deliverables, task descriptions, example document and document templates
  • Capture all information generated during the execution of project tasks, in context of the specific tasks, for future re-use
  • Act as a single repository for all electronic project information accessible by browsing roadmap structures, using full-text searching functionality of by following e-mail hyperlinks to documents sent by other users
  • Ensure information consistency by means of controlled document editing processes, multi-tier security and full version control
  • Create new roadmaps or configure existing roadmap templates to guide teams through the execution of a project
  • Create templates from existing roadmaps for future re-use-thereby growing the organisation's collection of project execution structures

EDEN™ is available as a full-fledged web-based application using the latest AJAX technology.

EDEN Roadmap Browser “A read-only repository of EDEN" information

The EDEN™ Roadmap Browser is a web based, read-only version of the EDEN™ Platform and Navigator*. The key feature of the EDEN™ Roadmap Browser is that it allows complete EDEN™ roadmaps to be packaged and distributed on any storage media - even CD or DVD. Users can then access the project information locked inside the relevant EDEN™ roadmaps in context of the respective roadmaps steps using a simple web-based interface. If desired, users can further access the latest on-line version of the relevant document or roadmap.
